Church ahead — in the countryside it's often the oldest building around and worth a short stop.
Iceland's tiny country churches, some turf-roofed, some corrugated iron, punctuate the whole Ring Road. A cross-only variant (E08.12, kirkjugarður) points to a cemetery.
