Horse riders
Reiðmenn
What do I do?
A riding trail crosses or runs beside the road. Slow right down, don't honk, and pass wide and gently — riders often come in groups with loose spare horses in tow.
Iceland has an extensive network of reiðvegir, marked bridle paths that parallel and cross rural roads. This is a different sign from the loose-horses warning: here the horses have riders, and a whole trekking group may take a while to clear the road.
The words on the sign
