Traffic lights are ahead where you might not expect them — possibly the first set you've seen in hours. Be ready to stop.
Outside the capital area traffic lights are genuinely rare, so this sign does real work: it warns you that a long, fast rural stretch ends at a signalled junction, often in Selfoss, Borgarnes or Akureyri.
