What do I do?
You're near a school, playground or play street. Crawl past and watch the spaces between parked cars — children here may step out without looking.
Mostly a town sign, and it also marks the entrance to a leikgata, a residential play street where children are expected on the roadway itself. Icelandic kids walk to school on their own from a young age, so take it seriously around morning and mid-afternoon.
