What do I do?
Fishing permits are sold here — you need one for every lake and river in Iceland.
The Veiðikortið card covers dozens of lakes for one flat price, while salmon rivers are licensed per rod and can cost a small fortune. A related sign (E07.32, sjóstangaveiði) marks sea-angling boat trips.
