What do I do?
Slow down and keep both hands on the wheel — potholes, frost heaves and washboard gravel can knock the car off line.
Freeze–thaw cycles buckle even the paved roads, and gravel develops washboard ripples. If the back of the car starts skipping sideways, ease off the accelerator instead of braking.
