What do I do?
Read the colour first: black on yellow means rural Iceland, blue-on-white means the Capital Region. The number in the white box is the road the arrow points onto, and any figure after the place name is the distance in kilometres.
The classic arrow-shaped signpost at country junctions, lettered with a place or district name. A variant without a road number (F01.21) points down unnumbered routes, including marked winter routes. The regulation lets these stand on the left side of the road only, so check both sides at a junction.
