What do I do?
Brake before the bend, not in it. Take it slower than it looks — many Icelandic curves tighten halfway through.
Rural roads here were laid over the landscape, not cut through it, so bends can be sharp, off-camber, and hiding a bridge or a sheep. The sign's arrow shows which way the road turns.
